Constraints To Growth |
“Businesses striving for the next level need systems that are already there.”

An organization focused on managing payroll costs will wait until their team is overwhelmed before hiring additional staff to help with the workload. What happens then? Very few people will take responsibility for, or show any interest in, expanding. Initiatives to grow fall flat. Businesses focused on growth will recruit new leaders in advance of an expansion and actually make them responsible for driving that growth, ensuring that efforts to do so get attention.
Similarly, organizations focused on limiting the costs of their systems and restricting any investment in business process improvements will continually find themselves bumping into limitations. Those that improve their methods, systems, and applications in order to help drive their growth stand a much better chance of succeeding.
Are your systems already holding your organization back? As you contemplate expansion, do you encounter comments from your team like:
- “I’m not sure our system will give us that information.”
- “That would be really great, but I don’t know where we’d start.”
- “I agree, that sounds like a great market opportunity. It seems like we’d need to reinvent our company to take advantage of it though.”
Any of these seem familiar? If so, you owe it to yourself, and your bottom line, to keep reading.
